Get Back On Your Feet Again, Ubisoft

1

Years ago (it was back at the end of 2012), we published an article about how Ubisoft (definitely one of the best developers out there) was undergoing a very bad period. Now, after the bad results the company had with The Division 2 and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, it happened again.

Now, as our friends out at Seasoned Gaming reported, Ubisoft has now put up a “task force” to ensure higher quality in its upcoming titles. As a matter of fact, I did love The Division 2 (achieved a platinum on it) and, although it’s taking some time, I am enjoying Breakpoint. Yet, neither of them lived up the expectations and missed their sales targets.

So, as a start, the company stated:

“We are reinforcing our editorial team to be more agile and better accompany our development teams around the world as they create the best gaming experiences for players”.

Also, to enhance creativity and in order to better differentiate one title from the other, Ubisoft also reported:

“In the previous system that editorial had, there were often the ideas of just one or two people getting put into every game. That’s why you tended to see such similarity because it’s the same taste and opinion being replicated.”

In the last few years, the company stuck to just a handful of franchises, often postponing new ones like the interesting competitive multiplayer Skull and Bones, presented to the public during the 2017 edition of the E3 and then disappeared from the radars.

Here at AmigaGuru we do hope that Ubisoft can quickly rise and stand up again. We sure miss it!
