The second copy of Painkiller arrived, just like before all smashed up and not that much of a collectors item as one thought it would have been,

Remember that post last week about the Painkiller Collector’s Edition that arrived squashed/damaged in my post box?…. here is a link in case you didn’t or need another look at it: I’m in PAIN!.
So here’s the thing, Amazon sent me a replacement and a message that i could keep the old one too (the damaged one) as it would cost them too much to pay the postage to return it and send me a new one with express post and in the end postage would cost more (and then some) than the game did in the first place…
Well, yesterday the replacement copy arrived, yet again in a “size C1 box” which clearly was part of the reason for the merchandise being damaged last time. Guess what… the replacement was also squashed/damaged…while not as bad as last time…still not in a state that a collector’s edition box should look like… not in my collection anyway.
Here you can see both the replacement (top/sealed) and the one that i got last week; the older one of the two has been repaired and fixed quite a bit to look like this but still…. looks bad.
The replacement was not torn but the corners and bottom/top have been damaged and i am certain that as soon as i remove the seal the contents will fall out.
Here you can see more of the damage. In some places, the replacement actually looks better — but in others, not so much. At least I’m pretty confident the contents inside aren’t damaged this time around.
And that’s the annoying part. This is a really cool collector’s edition, and at this rate it might go out of stock soon. I honestly don’t understand how Amazon managed to mess it up again (and the postman didn’t help either).
Now I’m stuck wondering how to even approach Amazon about this. I’ll obviously send them another complaint, but I’m curious how they’ll react to sending me a replacement of a replacement. And will they pack it in another flimsy C1 box? If so, we all know how that ends.
If Amazon lets me keep both copies, then yes — I’ll absolutely do another giveaway for this replacement as well. But right now, I’m in limbo until Amazon responds.
