Disaster Report is a series that dates back to 2003, when the first title appeared on the PS2. I remember learning about it on an independent magazine because at the time the official ones never dealt about titles that where in a different region (NSTC/J or US). As much as I wanted to play a game with such an unusual gameplay (for the time, at least), tracking it was always difficult, since the official titles changed from region to region: SOS: The Final Escape (EU and AU), Zettaizetsumei Toshi (JP) and so on. A few years after a follow-on was published, called Zettaizetsumei Toshi 2 in Japan and Raw Danger in the rest of the world. Please don’t ask me why…

Disaster Report 4 Plus: Summer Memories is the forth installment for the series, and is soon coming on the PlayStation4, apparently with PS VR support. We are here dealing with an action-adventure game (developed by Granzella, which acquired the rights from the original developer Irem), and originally released in Japan in 2018. This fourth entry in the Disaster Report serie was originally meant to be released for the PlayStation 3 but its production was halted due to the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.

The goal is to escape the destroyed city, finding safe paths through collapsing buildings and dealing with panicked and fleeing people. The game was to feature over 60 characters, the largest in series history. The player would have had to work with these people to escape. The player can enter collapsed buildings, within which the player will find survivors and additional escape routes. The game has a new “cleanliness” parameter for the character. If the character gets too dirty, stress will rise. The player can use the toilet to increase the main character’s cleanliness parameter. The player is free to customize the main character. At the start of the game, the player can set the main character’s gender, face style, and hair style. Over 100 clothing items, including suits and casual outfits can be earned as the player works through the game. [Source: Wikipedia].

Well … stay tuned and have fun. The game is due next April 7th.
