For many different reasons I sadly am one of those people that missed the pre-order window campaign for Sony’s next console. I really wanted, for once in my life, to get a console on day one, even though I keep thinking that probably we could have waited a few more months. A lot of new games are just a few weeks away, not to mention an endless pile of PS4 (and even some PS3) backlog titles. I probably will have to wait until next January to get my hands on a PS5, so for the time being I leave you with two brand-new videos from Sony. The first one is console teardown…

The second one is instead focused on the PS5 User Interface. Those interfaces have come a really long way. I remember firing up my first PSX, which only let you manage the memory card contents or play some CD music, or the PS2 ones which also allowed to play DVD video. Then, when Sony decided to try the way of hand-helds console, we moved on a Cross-media bar that was also the basis for the PS3 interface. Now, with the 5th iteration of consoles, we shifted from UI (User Interface) to UX (User Experience). Just watch the following video and you will discover why.

For those of you lucky enough to have succeeded in pre-ordering the console, this beauty will be yours in just a month. As far as I am concerned, January 2021 can’t come soon enough. Enjoy!

  1. The UI is great for sure , jus a little bit tricky at the start of this gen as some people don’t know how to switch to ps5 versions of games as they are not always chosen by default and the exiting and quitting games is different. But the more I use it the more I realise or think to myself, why didn’t they think of that sooner.
